Investment in Just Better Care pays off for consultants turned franchisees
Franchise consultants Mike Padden and Bram Baker liked Just Better Care (JBC), a premier home and nursing agency, so much that they each bought a franchise and three years down the track, both owners won top awards at the JBC annual conference in Queensland.
Padden and Baker are franchise consultants with Franchise Systems Group, a consultancy specialising in creating franchise systems for organisations.
Working with JBC’s founder Trish Noakes five years ago, the pair were convinced the JBC franchise system would be a worthwhile investment.
“It’s rather unusual that franchise consultants get involved but we immediately liked the concept and the foresight of the founder so we decided to invest. Here we are now three years later, winning awards and proving that following the system works beautifully,” said Bram Baker, franchisee on the Gold Coast.
At this year’s conference, Mike Padden’s Northern Suburbs office in Sydney won the award for Outstanding Achievement, while Bram Baker’s Gold Coast office won the award for Franchise of the Year not only for 2010 but also for 2009, defeating 16 other JBC franchise offices.
Padden said “Having been involved in its inception and owned a Just Better Care franchise since the company began franchising, it’s great to be first on board and see how much the business has grown.”
Established in 2005, Just Better Care is an Australian network of locally-owned agencies offering a range of services such as personal, palliative and dementia care, nursing, medication and wound care, as well as domestic assistance and outings for social support.
