A new $50m dining and entertainment precinct at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza is set to open its doors this October following an announcement from Scentre Group.

Featuring nine new restaurants and South Australia’s first HOYTS LUX cinema, the precinct in Adelaide’s north-east will kick off with a four-day full-centre celebration beginning October 25.

The latest development from joint owners Scentre Group and AMP Capital marks significant progression for the South Australian casual dining sector, with two first-to-market retailers added to the mix.

Franchise brand, Schnitz will open its inaugural South Australian location, following successful east-coast growth, whilst Rockpool-owned The Bavarian will also launch its first outlet for the state.

Schnitz won’t be the only franchise brand unveiled at the opening however, with Westfield Tea Tree Plaza also announcing the opening of American favourite TGI Fridays and healthy burger bar, Grill’d.

Lachlan Monfries, centre manager said Westfield’s latest development would be unlike anything the state had seen before, providing locals with a unique offering that caters to the wider public.

“After months of anticipation, I’m excited to announce Westfield Tea Tree Plaza’s new dining and entertainment precinct will open to the public on 25th October,” Monfries said.

“Unlike anything else in Adelaide, the new precinct will deliver a series of firsts for SA and will be a place for customers to come together and discover new favourites. We can’t wait to celebrate its grand opening in just three weeks’ time and unveil our living centre to the community.”

On the entertainment side of this, the integration of a new 12-screen cinema offering, including the state’s first HOYTS LUX will help to bolster the precinct’s foot traffic and commercial appeal.

To celebrate, Westfield Tea Tree Plaza will host four full-days of festivities across the centre, including live music, giveaways, food demonstrations and retailer discounts.
