Home care service franchise, Home Instead Senior Care, has had a successful year with the announcement that it is opening its 11th franchise in Australia and has been profiled in Time magazine.

The new franchise in Ballina, northern NSW, marks Home Instead Senior Care’s entry into regional Australia. Up until now, all franchises have been located in metropolitan areas or cities.

Time magazine’s profile discussed the businesses rise from a small business started by Paul and Lori Hogan in Omaha Nebraska to an “international dynamo” that earned $761 million last year and is expected to earn $850 million this year.

Home Instead Senior Care director, Martin Warner, said the company has enjoyed steady growth in its four years. “The demand for our services has led to record growth month after month.”

“When we first started out, people were not really aware that private, in-home care like Home Instead Senior Care was readily available in Australia. Australia’s older population is continuing to grow and people are searching for flexible, client focused solutions that will allow them to stay independent in their own home for as long as possible, while still receiving the support they need,” he said.

Home Instead Senior Care provides non-medical home care services to older people such as personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transport for appointments and respite for convalescence care.

There are now over 850 franchises in 16 countries, with 11 in Australia.
