Franchisees the focus with new Success Club

The Franchisee Success Club was officially launched last week at the NSW Franchise Council of Australia’s (FCA) State Conference, aiming to highlight the hard work and success stories of individual franchisees across the country.

The Club was launched by Stephen Giles, FCA chairman and Tony Melhem, a director of the FCA and chairman of its National Franchisee Forum.

Giles said the Franchisee Success Club is a world first and one of the most important and exciting initiatives the FCA has ever ventured, with Melhem adding that it shows that “Australia sees franchisees as being as important as franchisors.”

Melhem said the Franchisee Success Club will acknowledge franchisees for their hard work and will offer those in the industry a number of networking opportunities.

“In my opinion, this is probably the best thing the FCA has done. I myself had significant adversity to deal with and l would have been delighted to have been acknowledged for getting through that.

“It’s about sharing the personalised success stories of franchisees … and it’s going to promote and grow franchising,” he said.

The FCA hopes to have 1,000 franchisees in the club by July 2012.

Franchisees can nominate themselves or be nominated by their franchisors for a range of achievements including:

  • Financial or business success
  • Being leaders within their community
  • Excellence in customer service and satisfaction
  • Positive contribution to fellow franchisees and the franchise system
  • Personal success or achievements, such as triumph over adversity

The first members of The Franchisee Success Club were formally acknowledged at the State Conference on Friday. These include:

  • Glen Barltrop, Laubman & Pank, Brookside, QLD
  • Brett Maker, Mortgage Choice, Sydney NSW
