3 brands score star franchise ratings

Poolwerx, Gutter-Vac and FCF Fire & Electrical are the latest three franchise brands named as high performing businesses by independent firm FRANdata.

The trio of service-based franchises join Quest Hotel Apartments , First Class Accounts and three Lotts brands already highly rated in this national initiative.

Darren McAuliffe, CEO of FRANdata Australia, told Inside Franchise Business, “it’s good to see quality brands embracing the rating system because they want good performance recognised.”

Brands achieve franchise star ratings

Poolwerx achieved a 5-star rating. Andrew Walker, chief development officer, said  the rating reflected the support the business is delivering franchisees.

“Franchise buyers see the value of the brand through all the processes being evaluated by an independent party.”

Both Gutter-Vac and FCF Fire & Electrical were awarded 4-star ratings.

FCF franchisor Jacob Foster Foster told Inside Franchise Business “The best part of the rating is that for a smaller brand all the back end at the support office is validated. It’s important for a smaller brand to show that we are really doing the right thing as a franchise system.”

Warren Ballantyne, founder of the Gutter-Vac franchise system, said “I’m getting the business rated to see how I can improve. The secret to success is continuous improvement.”

Recognising good performance

McAuliffe said “It’s good to see quality brands embracing the rating system because they want good performance recognised.

“The three service-based franchises are conforming as high performers. All three have excellent line of sight over franchisee financial performance and just as importantly they use that information to maintain their franchisee performance.

“Each of the founders remain actively involved in their franchise and take the success of their franchises personally.”

McAuliffe confirmed there are another 20 brands undergoing evaluation.

FRANdata rates franchise systems on seven business elements. The ratings process is well-established in FRANdata’s home market, the US.
