Inside Franchise Business: multiple tutoring centres are a new direction for the Begin Bright franchiseMulti-unit ownership is a new direction for Begin Bright School Readiness and Primary Tutoring Centres which has 30 franchisees in its network.

Emma Makai started her Begin Bright franchise in Hoxton Park in February 2016. Now she’s taking on her second business and is the first in the children’s early education network to own multiple tutoring centres.

Performing so successfully as a Begin Bright franchisee, Makai was granted the rights to the neighbouring territory in Liverpool to expand her business.

Begin Bright managing director Paula Bedford told Inside Franchise Business Makai has shown natural acumen as a business leader.

“Emma has a lot of very good technical business skills, she’s very intuitive and good at marketing herself and her centre. This expansion gives her the opportunityy to market and leverage her tutors and opportunities for children to learn.

“Multi-unit is a part of our business strategy, for new or existing franchisees. We aim to have 50 territories in the next year, both single franchisee and multi-units. Our biggest demand is coming from New South Wales and Victoria and we’ve had a few people expressing interest already.”

The business, which is based in northern New South Wales town Tweed Heads, recently opened a Sydney office where three of the management team, including Bedford, are based.
