Finals fever as Fastway delivers NRL trophy

Fastway Couriers was faced with the very important task of delivering Rugby League’s most prized possession, the NRL trophy, to a charity breakfast at Penrith Panthers earlier this week.

The courier franchise volunteered its services to the Luke Priddis Foundation’s NRL Western Sydney Grand Final breakfast, and general manager, Fastway Couriers, Sydney, said it was an honour to deliver the “legendary” trophy and support the Foundation, which supports kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The NRL grand final is this weekend and will see the Melbourne Storm go head to head with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

The breakfast, attended by 2GB’s Warren Moore and NRL icons Nathan Cayless, Wayne Pearce, Steve Mortimer and Luke Priddis, saw funds raised for the Luke Priddis Foundation through an auction and raffles.

Sydney-based Fastway Couriers franchisee – and Bulldogs supporter – Wally Darwiche, says he’s seen a lot of exciting deliveries come through the depot’s doors in his five years at Fastway, but says the NRL Trophy is one of his all-time favourites.

“With the grand final just around the corner and the Doggies in with a shot, it made me very proud to be part of transporting the NRL trophy, especially for such a good cause,” he said.
