The Franchise Council of Australia has had discussions with members of Dr EmersonÕs department conducting a review of the recommendations of the Joint parliamentary committee review into the Franchising Code of conduct.

Executive director of the FCA, Steve Wright said “Dr EmersonÕs department has circulated a discussion paper which addresses the key questions openly and with what appears to be a bias towards practical enhancements to existing arrangements rather than revolutionary change.

“The FCA discussion was at the start of a targeted consultation process which will continue for the next few weeks before the department makes its final recommendations.

“In addition to our verbal representations, the FCA will be lodging a formal written response to each of the many questions raised in the discussion paper.”
