The Franchise Council of Australia has honoured franchisees and support staff from across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory at the NAB FCA NSW/ACT Excellence in Franchising Awards for 2012.

Winners on the night included John and Monica Longmire of Just Cuts who took out the Multi-unit Franchisee of the Year accolade; Bianca Long from Mortgage Choice who won Franchisee of the Year – less than two staff; and Ian and Denise Clarke from Clark Rubber who won Franchisee of the Year – two or more staff.

Other winners included Joanne Matthews, also from Clark Rubber, who was crowned Franchise Woman of the Year; Steve Leddin from McDonald’s who took out the award for Franchisee Community Service; and Shane McMillan from Mister Minit who won the Field Manager of the Year award .

John and Monica Longmire said the awards were a great chance for them to step back and take a look at their business as a whole.

“We chose to enter this year because it’s a really valuable way to re-evaluate our business. It’s a great way to benchmark against the leaders in the sector,” they said.

Bianca Long said “It’s an honour to be recognised by all my peers. That Mortgage Choice believes in me enough to enter me was just amazing and like winning in itself,” she said.

Field Manager of the Year Shane McMillan said it was great to be recognised by other systems in terms of best practice.

All regional winners now qualify as finalists for the NAB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards Gala Dinner to be held at the Canberra Convention Centre on Tuesday 9 October 2012.
