Franchisees from depots in the Fastway Couriers network are preparing to deliver 480,000 fresh daffodils to volunteers in support of the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day on Friday 24 August.

CEO of Fastway Couriers Australia, Richard Thame, said “Couriers and support staff from our Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Sydney, Central Coast, Northern Rivers, Albury, Wollongong and Melbourne franchises will be donating their time and services to distribute flowers and merchandise on behalf of the charity.”

Thame said the group has expanded its commitment to the fundraising event by about 25 percent following last year’s event.

Cancer Council NSW event marketing coordinator Felicity Winstone said “Daffodil Day is the largest fundraising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere.”

Sales of flowers and other merchandise help support the Cancer Council provide information and support to those affected by the disease.
