A Newcastle graphic designer has had his dreams come true as his pizza box design hits Domino’s stores this week.

Ben Peeters scooped a $1000 prize when he won a competition on the Domino’s Pizza Australia Facebook page to design the brand’s next pizza box.

Peeters [pictured] was flown to the VISY Board packaging plant in Yatala, Queensland, to see the first batch of pizza boxes featuring his design fly off the printing press and onto pallets, destined for Domino’s stores across Australia.

Domino’s online marketing manager, Michael Gillespie, said “When we launched the Design a Pizza Box competition we were hoping to give our Facebook fans a way to tell us how they saw Domino’s, while also giving the winner the opportunity to have their artwork seen across the country.

“We were all blown away by Ben’s design and are looking forward to bringing it to life in our stores.

“The social media environment gives us a great opportunity to really find out what our fans want from us, and to get them involved in all aspects of our business.”

Peter’s design features the Domino’s bright red, the company’s new logo, and a fun print entwined with words Ben associated with Domino’s. The box designs are in stores now.
