EFM Health Clubs: Fast Franchises listing for third year in a row

Sarah Stowe

For the third year in a row, EFM Health Clubs has been recognised as one of the fastest growing franchise systems in Australia in the latest listing of the BRW Fast Franchises.

EFM ranked 38th in terms of revenue growth (down from 30 in 2011) and 27th in terms of site growth. Revenue fror 2010-2011 was 7.1 million, a growth rate of 10.7 percent.

When current managing director, Matthew Lindblom, bought the business in 2000 there were 12 franchises in two states and the business was still in its infancy. Less than 12 years later and the business has grown to 65 franchises across five states, servicing the health and fitness needs of nearly 8,000 active members.

Although new site growth has been consistent, itÕs the revenue growth of established clubs that has most pleased Matthew Lindblom.

“We’ve maintained consistent and manageable growth in terms of site numbers over the past three years, evident by our BRW Fast Franchises rankings during that time, however the real pleasing aspect of our overall revenue growth has been the revenue increases from existing franchisees.

“At a head office level, weÕre very focused on driving profitability of our franchisees and assisting them to build revenue is an obviously important aspect.”

Revenue per outlet for EFM Health Clubs is shown by BRW as $109,230.
