Fitness franchise EFM Health clubs has awarded its Franchisee of the Year and annual award winners for 2009.

The presentations took place at the EFM Health Clubs national conference held on the Gold Coast. The theme of the 2009 conference was Maximising Franchisee Profit.

Managing director Matthew Lindblom said “Our focus for the years ahead is very much on increasing the profit of our existing clubs. As franchisor, weÕre investing significant resources into assisting our franchisees to realising increased profit levels”.

According to Lindblom, the EFM Franchisee of the Year awards are based on a combination of factors including annual turnover growth, overall turnover, participation in events and contribution to the group.

“The award system certainly rewards turnover and growth, but more importantly it places equal weighting on a franchiseeÕs contribution to assisting fellow franchisees to achieve success. Team work is one of the real strengths of our organisation”.

National Franchisee of the Year was awarded to Steve Hughes of Woodville, South Australia; Nathan Wiese of EFM King William St was named South Australian Franchisee of the Year; the EFM Eastern State Franchisee of the Year, awarded to the best performing club from Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania, went to Victorian multi unit franchisee Craig Schulze of Parkville Grattan Street and Poplar Road; and the Best First Year Club award was scooped up by Shane OÕDonoghue and Paula Dean at EFM Elizabeth Vale in South Australia.
