Domino’s trials scooters for new green deliveries

If all goes well Domino's could will require up to 3,000 electric delivery scooters by 2014

Pizza franchise, Domino’s, is doing its bit for the environment, purchasing a small quantity of electric drive scooters for trial in the business’ delivery fleet.

Domino’s has been evaluating the Vmoto scooters for nearly six months and has ordered seven for field trials, after which, is successful, Domino’s plans to phase out its petrol delivery vehicles with the aim of having its whole delivery fleet electric in the near future.

This means the franchise will require up to 3,000 electric delivery scooters by 2014.

Andrew Rennie, Domino’s chief operations officer said “Domino’s is committed to sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint. The trial of Vmoto electric scooters is a significant step forward for Domino’s given delivery is a huge part of our business.”
