Australian based company Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (DPE) has formed a partnership with Bain Capital Domino Hong Kong Limited that will see it acquire a 75 percent stake in Domino’s Pizza Japan (DPJ).

Bain Capital Domino Hong Kong Limited is an entity advised by Bain Capital Partners and its affiliates, and it is the current owner of DPJ.

DPJ is Domino’s master franchisee in Japan, and it is the country’s third largest pizza delivery chain.

As at June 2013 the chain had 259 stores across Japan and DPE will continue to grow the brand there – it seeks to eventually open another 341 outlets in the country to reach a total of 600 stores.

DPE will acquire the 75 percent stake for ¥12 billion and provide ¥9 billion of new debt funding, which implies the entire business is worth ¥25.0 billion.
