Inside Franchise Business: a new role puts ecommerce front and centre at CouriersPleaseCouriersPlease has appointed a new national ecommerce manager to position the business at the forefront of online retail delivery.

The courier franchise delivered more than 17 million parcels Australia-wide and internationally in 2016 alone, and in her new role, Jessica Ip will drive the strategy and innovation of the business’s ecommerce services to enhance the customer experience.

Ip will handle the design and implementation of a suite of innovative eCommerce solutions to make last-mile delivery as hassle-free, flexible and convenient for the customer.

In a previous role with Qantas Freight, where she spent seven years in technology consultancy, Ip was charged with improving business performance and global key account management and eBusiness.

Ip said “To take the helm of CP’s ecommerce management, at what is such a pivotal time for the logistics, supply chain and retail industries, is a great opportunity. With the growing demand for online shopping and competition from major global players, our focus is on enhancing the customer experience right from the time an order is made to the final moment when the parcel is delivered.”

She joins a senior leadership team made up of 80 per cent women, in an industry with one of the lowest rates of female employees of any sector in Australia.

The team includes:

  • chief operating officer Hoy Yen Hooper
  • chief financial officer Paula Sabbouh
  • national sales manager Sharon King
  • head of customer experience Dharshi Bubb
  • national marketing manager Lissa Becker
  • national sales manager Wendy Bass
  • legal counsel Clare Matthews
