Fibonacci Coffee, a cafe business, has aggressive expansion plans.

Boaz Keeda, CEO, said the brand is set to open “150 in the eastern seaboard in the next five years”, with a focus on New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

The franchise model comes with three models and corresponding initial investments:

  • Kiosk: $150,000 -$200,000

  • In-line cafe: $200,000 – $300,000

  • Full cafe/bar: $350,000+

“We try to move away from the top-down franchisor/franchisee relationship, so it is more of a partnership model,” continued Keeda.

The franchisor does not take ongoing royalties from the franchisee who instead pays a fixed administrative fee for ongoing support. And internal financial program of up to 50 percent of the initial investment is also available after a franchisee funds $100,000.

Franchisees are not required to pay an ongoing marketing fee to the franchisor, but instead purchase from the overarching marketing program available to the network based on their local needs. Five percent of the product offering can also be introduced by the franchisee to gear the business for the local community’s demands.
