Choice Hotels expands across Australia

Australia’s largest hotel franchisor, Choice Hotels Australasia, has added six new properties to its stable after seeing strong growth in demand across all levels of its offering.

The last quarter has seen particular demand in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania, and CHA’s CEO, Trent Fraser said the company is focused on investing in regional and metropolitan properties, as increased international competition and a high Australian dollar has a spike in travellers venturing abroad.

“Our strategy is simple.  We’re committed to providing travellers with a breadth of options across all locales and budgets to assist in stimulating domestic tourism,” said Fraser.

The new Choice properties include:

  • 4.5-STAR Quality Suites Deep Blue in Warrnambool Victoria, with eight deluxe suites and five self-contained penthouses complete with day spa, on-site restaurant and coastal views
  • 60 room 3.5-star Comfort Inn Lygon Lodge in Carlton
  • 4.5-STAR Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes, with the ‘Starlight’ conferencing centre that can accommodate up to 400 guests
  • The 3.5-STAR Econo Lodge Albury Paddlesteamer Motor Inn complete with 61 room serviced suites and an on-site restaurant
  • The 3.5-STAR Comfort Inn Harvest Lodge in Gunnedah
  • The 3.5-STAR Comfort Hotel Burnie, Tasmania
