CCTV helps prevent shoplifting says franchise chain OzSpy

Franchised spy tech company, OzSpy, is promoting the use of CCTV in stores to clamp down on shoplifting, and increase retailers’ profitability.

Craig Mitchell, managing director of OzSpy said retail industry research showed reducing the incidence of shoplifting by just three percent can result in an increase in profits of 25 percent, and a possible decrease in insurance premiums.

“ThatÕs a significant increase to the bottom line of any business and itÕs easy to achieve with the right equipment,” he said. Many business owners are turning to CCTV surveillance systems to supplement burglar alarms and other physical deterrents, he said.

Established in 1998, this Brisbane-based franchise now has 11 shops and other partner companies nationally and abroad, and is in an expansion mode.
