Ice cream franchise, Ben & Jerry’s, has launched a Random Acts of Kindness campaign, which is seeing its mascot cow ‘Woody’ giving out free ice cream, hugs and shoe shines.

According to Mumbrella, the campaign will run in Sydney and Melbourne until the weekend and is also asking the public to nominate a friend’s act of kindness, for their chance to win a year’s supply of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

Johnny Hammond, Ben & JerryÍs Brand Champion said Doing positive work in the community and taking the lead on these activities is a proud Ben & Jerry’s tradition, so we’re excited to see Woody the cow hit the streets and surprise people with some fun and unexpected random acts of kindness. We can’t wait to see how many like-minded folk get into the spirit of the movement and feel inspired to pass the kindness on.

The Random Acts of Kindness campaign follows the franchise’s Free Cone Day earlier this month, which saw it give away 41,130 scoops of free ice cream.
