Bedshed encourages sleeping in for charity

Supporting the fight against mitochondrial disease, Bedshed will be supporting Stay in Bed Day on Sunday 22 September as part of Global Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week.

The company has donated $5000 to help researchers find a cure for the debilitating genetic disorder said Bedshed’s chief operating officer, Gavin Culmsee.

“It’s a condition which deprives the body of energy and sufferers often find themselves bedridden all day,” he added.

Culmsee is encouraging the community to get involved by ‘Giving a Sleep In’ and getting sponsored to stay in bed or making a donation.

“We’ve made this donation on behalf of our network of franchisees who are extremely passionate about helping people to get better quality sleep and get more out of their day.

“This cause gets to the heart of what we try and do as a business,” he said.
