Aussie seed gives Bakers Delight extra healthy bite

Bakers Delight has launched a super-nutrient seeded bread in an exclusive partnership with Western Australian farm business, The Chia Company.

The latest bread offer, a loaf and rolls, uses the superfood Chia, an ancient grain first used by the Aztecs and now produced by the Kimberley-based fourth generation farmer, John Foss, who heads up The Chia Company.

Foss said “Chia should be consumed regularly so it makes sense that we are able to incorporate Chia in an everday product.”

Chris Caldwell, general manager at Bakers Delight, said the business was pleased to be supporting the Australian farming and agricultural industry and bringing the health benefits of the Chia seed into Australian homes.

“Chia is considered one of nature’s complete superfoods and will be included in our new range of daily baked Chia bread in its whole seed form.”

Loaves priced at $4.20 and rolls retailing at 70c were on sale yesterday across the national franchise network, supported in stores by promotional material. There will also be a national TV ad campaign, click here to view.
