This American BBQ sensation could be your next business venture. Inside Franchise Business: After a food franchise thatÕs smokinÕ?

Twelve Boar, a quick service restaurant which specialises in smoked American BBQ, has an appetite for franchising this year. Learn more about opportunities.

“Smoked BBQ/American BBQ is on the rise in Australia,” said Rick Palesh, franchisor.

“But what makes us different from other American BBQ restaurants is that we are the first franchised smoked American BBQ concept in Australia.

“We have taken all the issues out of opening a smoked American BBQ restaurant and created a quick service model that has proven to be extremely profitable, easy to run, and has quickly become very popular in our area.”

Palesh has based this analysis on the restaurant in Cleveland, Queensland which has produced a profit of about 22 per cent and kept wage costs below 25 per cent. The restaurant has been in operation for just under two years.

Twelve Boar’s smoking process has also been automated making the production process more efficient.

The brand is looking to open least three franchises in 2017 in southeast Queensland to build the brand locally. Initial investment for a full turn key package is $350,000.

“When buying a franchise from us, we can assist in lease negotiations on franchisees’ behalf and part of the negotiations Twelve Boar aim for are for the Lessor to offer cash towards fit out, so you could be looking at more of the $200,000 range,” he explained.

Support includes a three week pre-opening training program and up to one week post opening, as well as continued ongoing support. Ideal franchisees are owner operators. Palesh said a full scale restaurant model may be considered in the future.
