NeNe Chicken set to spice up Darwin

Nick Hall

Korean fried chicken franchise; NeNe Chicken has announced plans to open a new storefront in Casuarina, Darwin in early September.

The latest location will be the northern-most site in NeNe’s Australian network, taking the list of outlets to 14, with additional stores currently in negotiation talks.

Yealim Kim, marketing and international liaison manager at NeNe Chicken said the brand was eager to showcase its signature range to Darwin locals.

“NeNe Chicken is proud to give Darwin locals the opportunity to enjoy Korean fried chicken with NeNe’s authentic marination, crispy batter mix and tasty sauces, all directly sauced from NeNe Chicken Korea,” Kim said.

With locations in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australian and now the Northern Territory, the brand is steadily bolstering its franchise network and plans to roll-out a delivery service later this year.

Kim said while the brand is always looking to expand, careful considerations over site location, offering and competitors must be made.

“Two new stores will be opening in Victoria with two other locations under discussion. Moving forward, NeNe Chicken is continuing to expand, however, to protect franchisees, we always place a lot of emphasis on prime site location,” Kim said.

Originally launching its franchise model in 1999, NeNe Chicken arrived in Australia in 2015 and has enjoyed continued success in the local market, which Kim credits to the franchise’s dedicated network.

“We believe the key difference we bring to the game is a genuine desire for all of our franchisees to feel like they’re a part of the NeNe family,” Kim said.

“We are all in this together, meaning that we can focus on our customers enjoying the NeNe experience while also ensuring the success of our franchisees. Our NeNe business model has been well balanced to create appropriate margins so that franchisees can achieve a decent return on their investment and hard work.”

The Casuarina store will be located at 247 Trower Rd, Casuarina, NT.
