Nando’s deal with Skyfii good news for franchisees

Australian data analytics and marketing services provider, Skyfii (ASX:SKF) has signed a deal with the Australian arm of South-African owned franchise, Nando’s for the roll-out of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

The two-year master services agreement will see the Australian platform implemented across 120 restaurants around the country with the potential to expand further.

For franchisees, this means enhanced customer experience, as well as critical insights into the venue’s volume of customers, dwell times and frequency and recency of customer visits.

The deal comes following a series of platform trials from Nando’s in selected venues nationwide, which, according to Skyfii CEO Wayne Arthur allowed the brand to demonstrate a clear return for insights and customer interaction.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Nandos Australia as a new customer for 2018. As a premium brand within the food retail industry, Nando’s set a level of superior service and quality we are happy to support,” Mr Arthur said.

Nando’s Australia PR Manager, Cath Palfreyman said the decision to partner with Skyfii would have immense benefits for the franchisee, should they choose to employee the platform.

“Initial response during the trial period has been very positive, showcasing how the technology can enhance our customer experience while also allowing our restaurant staff to personalise customer interactions,” Palfreyman said.

“The learnings available through Skyfii are helping us to get new insights into where we can apply operational changes and increase efficiencies in our network.

The implementation of customer analytics services within the food retail industry marks a positive change from the South-African brand.

According to a Roy Morgan customer satisfaction survey, between 2016-2017, Nando’s dropped 6.1% in consumer ratings in Australia.

Following the results, the South-African franchise implemented a range of franchisee-focused training programs and processes, with Skyfii’s deal the latest effort to curb the trend.

With franchisee training and customer satisfaction high on Nando’s priority list, Palfreyman says the Skyfii deal has the potential to expand nationwide within a matter of years.

“Nando’s is looking forward to building a long term partnership with Skyfii and continuing to enjoy the relationship,” she said.
