Lock your future in place with Lock & Roll

You’ve got the D-I-Y gene, you’re a real people person and improving your work/life balance is top of your must-do list. So it’s time to consider if a mobile home services franchise may be just right for you.

Lock & Roll’s new franchise business, launched in April 2018, aims to set the benchmark in window and door maintenance in Australia and fill an exciting and growing niche in the market.

Australians need to know their homes are safe and secure and residential body and commercial building managers need to be on top of the ever-changing industry regulations.

Lock & Roll’s business has been created with two key trends in mind: the loss of DIY skills and the emergence of the Do-It-For-Me (DIFM) generation, and an increasing prevalence of time-poor individuals.

“Career demands and significant family commitments mean most residential property owners are time-poor. Any spare time they do have, is understandably used to relax and recharge,” explains Lock & Roll’s general manager Dom Galluccio.

“The days of tinkering in a shed with dad or grandad and tending to household maintenance has simply disappeared. Our customers are the DIFM generation who simply buy-in services they need.”

Australia’s older generation, a fast-growing segment of the population, can also lack neighbourly or family supporting today’s busy world and often has to rely on property maintenance services for any work required in the home.

In the commercial sector, there has been a move to seek specialist skills rather than generalist services partly driven by Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and government requirements. Commercial customers must ensure their businesses are safe and that all contractors can provide proof of WHS compliance.

Plus, there’s always a need for Lock & Roll’s services. The hardware of windows and doors inevitably deteriorates or fails over time with constant use. Window handles and latches, for example, can become loose or break and sliding and bi-fold doors can become stiffand almost impossible to slide.

If you like DIY, you’ll probably find the hands-on side of the business pretty straight forward. Nonetheless, plenty of technical knowledge and business support is provided via the company’s training manager, franchisee manager, marketing co-ordinator, business director and general manager.

To grow your business, Lock & Roll says it will help you manage all its different facets, from hiring staff, doing financial accounts and tax returns, marketing and advertising, wealth creation and personal growth.

Lock & Roll will make its money from sales of products to you and low fees. “It’s in our best interests to ensure that you continue to operate your business successfully, so we ensure our mark ups are realistic and that there’s enough margin for everyone to make a dollar,” says Galluccio.

Lock & Roll is a partnership between the Alchin Long Group – the largest privately-owned hardware manufacturer in the Australian window and door industry with over 40 years industry experience – and a franchise operation with over 25 years’ experience in the New Zealand window and door industry.

“We’ve invested time and money to prove that our award-winning New Zealand business will also work in Australia,” adds Galluccio.
