Local teacher swaps chalkboard for ovens

Sarah Stowe

After years of working as a language teacher at Ormiston College, Toby Bowes is starting a new franchise business with Ovenu. He is the latest in a line of franchisees joining the growing brand, cleaning ovens till they’re spotless and sparkle, using only non-toxic products.

The father of two said the concept is relatively new to Australia but has no doubt it will be a success as statistics show that cleaning the oven is the most hated chore. On a more serious note, Bowes highlights the safety needs for regular ovening cleaning. “There are many reasons to have your oven cleaned. You could be moving home, having a New Year’s Eve party or for safety reasons want to remove the carbon build up from beind the panels…People don’t realise that this is where the fires can start.”

Ovenu first launched in the UK in 1994 and swiftly gained global franchises across Australia, Spain, France and North America.
