Lenard’s promotion leverages social media

Lenard’s is using social media for its latest promotion, which will see one family of four win a $4,000 holiday within Australia every year for the next 10 years.

To enter, Australians are asked to metaphorically ‘bring something to the table’ by posting an image or video of their family around the dinner table using a Facebook app the company has created specifically for the promotion.

They may be enjoying a signature dish, celebrating a special occasion, taking part in an arts and crafts session, or even demonstrating a special talent.

Anyone who visits the Lenard’s Facebook page can view previous entries, vote for their favourite image or video or enter themselves by simply clicking on the “enter here” option.

Each individual will receive a five dollar coupon when they enter.

Franchisees can also benefit from the promotion. The store that achieves the most entries per $1000 of store sales will receive a complimentary store makeover valued at up to $18,000.

Rachael Hockaday of IdeaWorks Brisbane, the creative agency Lenard’s teamed up with to deliver the promotion, said “the promotion embodies the same fun and wholesome values that were integrated wholly into the new brand launch last year, with the core company value of ‘partnership’ being prominent.”

She said the Facebook application is easy to use and the promotion will be of benefit to all family members.

“Using the family table as the setting, we have created a common ground for all families, regardless of demographic differences, to connect with each other, have a little bit of fun and get the whole family involved,” she added.

Zoe Jacovou, national marketing manager, Lenard’s said the promotion ties in with the company’s new brand direction, which embodies the tagline ‘let’s make something special.’

“The family table is a place where every family engages and spends time together, whether it be mealtimes, celebrations, impromptu performances or board games.

“Bring something to the table’ enables families to share their best moments with their friends, vote on other entries and possibly win a free holiday every year for ten years,” she said.

Entries are now open, and they close on 9 June.
