JUMP! Swim opens pools, on track under new owner

JUMP! Swim Schools sites are opening up across Australia under the new owner Belgravia Kids.

The fitness business acquired the troubled JUMP! Swim Schools chain in August 2019.

Over the past few months, Belgravia Kids has been working hard to stabilise the JUMP! business, streamline processes and systems and stay in close communication with existing franchisees according to Belgravia Kids CEO Mark Collins.

“The new centre openings are great for the network, expanding our reach in QLD, ACT and WA,” said Collins.

Belgravia has opened new sites in Flemington (VIC), Nerang (QLD) and most recently Fyshwick (ACT). A further two sites in Baldivis (WA) and Clarkson (WA) are currently at advanced stages of development.

JUMP! Swim to open up to new franchises

“These new sites are a mixture of sites that had started development and didn’t have funds to complete as well as corporate sites that had been closed and have now been reopened,” Collins told Inside Franchise Business.

Belgravia is still working through which sites are viable and which franchisees are able to continue with the brand. There are plans to open the doors to new franchisees later this year.

Since the new franchisor took over, enrolment numbers have risen steadily, increasing by nearly 19 per cent to more than 23,000 swimmers each week by the end of 2019.

“We are excited now about moving forward and concentrating on growing the JUMP! brand and continuing to increase enrolments nationally,” said Collins.

“Such growth will allow us to make water a safer place for more children. Drownings are still on the increase for the 0-4 age group and this is something we’re dedicated to tackling.

“The fact we’ve been able to achieve this sort of growth in just under four months is a positive sign of what’s to come considering this growth occurred before entering the busy summer period when enrolments traditionally spike.”

Belgravia Kids is part of the Belgravia Group, which includes Belgravia Leisure, Genesis, and The Coaching Zone in its portfolio.
