In-demand home care business Home Instead ranks highly in franchisee survey

If you’re looking for a resilient business to invest in, home care services should be on the list.

Figures from the government’s Job Report in 2020 indicated the healthcare sector was among the most enduring, a result echoed in an independent survey by Franchise Relationships Institute.

In the 2020 FRI Ace Franchise Satisfaction survey, Home Instead ranked the highest in nine out of 24 areas of satisfaction when compared to all the other franchises.

Home Instead is a private home care service for seniors with offices across all Australian states. During 2020, the business saw a rise in demand for caregivers after seniors opted to use in-home care rather than traditional nursing homes.

This is reflected in a report from the Global Centre for Modern Ageing which showed 80 per cent of senior Australians would choose at-home care. This has been especially amplified due to overcrowding and the risk of Covid-19 spreading throughout nursing homes.

Martin Warner, founder of Home Instead Australia, says “Home Instead has been in high demand during Covid-19, with seniors preferring to be cared for within their homes. We are committed to ensuring our clients feel both safe and comfortable at all times.”

And with financial support increasing in this sector, there’s good reason for franchisees to feel confident in the sector’s potential.

When asked about their financial security in the FRI survey, 95 per cent of Home Instead franchisees indicated they were on track for financial success, and 100 per cent felt optimistic about the future.

They gave the franchisor a big tick for the brand passion, harmony and practical support provided.

Franchisee Kerrie Ward from Horsham says “The concept of CAREGivers being the heart and soul of the business model also provided me with a vison of us all working together to deliver the best quality service within the community age care sector.

“The support I receive from Home Instead national office is exceptional. Whether it relates to business management, marketing, quality, IT or finance they are always available when I need some advice,” she adds.
