Hungry Jack’s Fresh Choices menu launch

Think Hungry Jack’s, think flame-grilled Whopper. Think again. While the famous burger remains high on the menu, a Fresh Choices menu launched today adds low-carb burgers, fresh chicken salads and chicken wraps.

Hungry Jack’s launched its Vegan Cheeseburger in 2018 (17 years after its Veggie hopper hit stores) followed by the plant-based Rebel Whopper last year.

The Fresh Choices range launching today in stores increases the variety available at every restaurant. The goal is to include something for everyone from vegans to beef burger lovers, with a choice for every Aussie, including low carb and vegan options.

Customers can choose from four varieties of low-carb burgers: Bacon Deluxe, Whopper Junior, Tendercrisp Cheesy Bacon or Grilled Chicken.  Fried Tendercrisp or grilled chicken feature in Avocado BLT and Peri-Peri chicken wraps and the chicken salads.

Hungry Jack’s CEO Chris Green said the new Fresh Choices range demonstrates a commitment to cater for every diet.

We’ve noticed a growing trend, particularly with younger customers looking to reduce their carbohydrate intake so we are proud to introduce low-carb buns.

“We know that consumers across Australia are eating differently and want the option to choose whether that’s meat, vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, salad or low-carb. Fresh Choices gives Hungry Jack’s the ability to satisfy all customers tastes and requirements,” said Green.

As Inside Franchise Business pointed out early this year in a cafe trends article, more Australians are turning to a vegan or flexi-tarian diet, and the importance of alternative products has never been higher.

The big vegan name in franchising is of course the burgeoning chain Lord of the Fries, proving you don’t need meat to make your mark in the fast food sector.

Other franchise chains including McDonald’s, Zambrero and Domino’s are taking the path to a more varied menu.

The Fresh Choices range follows Hungry Jack’s trialling Jack’s Café in the ACT and other selected restaurants.
