Healthy ready meals for women’s gym franchise

Now serving up a range of healthy cooked meals is Fernwood WomenÕs Health Club.

The company that was recently awarded the most Successful Private Business of the Year in the 2008 BRW ANZ Private Business Awards (see news 04 September) has launched a range of fresh, gourmet ready meals called Nosh, for women who find it difficult to balance work, family, exercise and eating balanced healthy meals.

Diana Williams, the gym groupÕs founder, teamed up with a Melbourne gourmet food company and caterer to design fresh and nutritious meals prepared using a vacuum-cooking process. When food is heated in the microwave, the meal is steamed and doesnÕt need stirring to heat through evenly. The dishes can be frozen but can last up to 10 days in the fridge.

“My philosophy from the start was not to compromise on quality for the price,” Williams said. “I think thatÕs what happened with a lot of the frozen meals that are currently on the market.”

The menu includes red lentil curry and rice, salmon with orange paprika crust on a bed of sweet potato, Moroccan chicken with herbed couscous and seared beef in mushroom sauce.
