Franchisee loves Aussie Pooch Mobile benefits

Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog Wash and Grooming has been recognised as one of the top franchises of 2009 in the Financial ReviewÕs Smart Investor Magazine annual survey. Just ask Debra Harris about the benefits…

Ten years ago she took the biggest punt of her life and extended her mortgage to become part of The Aussie Pooch Family. She purchased an Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog Wash and Grooming franchise and has not looked back.

“Putting ourselves into debt to buy the franchise was a major step financially, but I’ve been able to repay that loan many times over,” Harris told Smart Investor Magazine.

“Now thereÕs no way I’d ever go back to working as an employee.”

What’s more, the lifestyle change has had a positive impact on her family. When I started with Aussie Pooch my daughter was 11 and my son four,” she says. “They’ve grown up with the business and it’s enabled me to work around the demands of the kids’ school and sport.”

Harris has also acquired additional Aussie Pooch territories. “I’ve split and sold my area twice and my goal is to have the master franchise for the NSW Central Coast and build up a team of Aussie Pooch franchisees to service that area,” she said.

“In October 2008, I purchased another van and my husband left full-time employment to join the business. My husband takes on the new bathing clients and my run is 95 per cent repeat two and four weekly customers.”
