Franchisees in the specialty chicken retail franchise, Lenard’s should be well place to benefit from the current consumer trend which sees chicken as a cost-conscious choice. According to a survey of nearly 11,000 Australians conducted for the franchise network more than 57 percent of respondents said they were turning away from meats such as beef, pork and lamb, and putting more chicken on the table as times get tougher.

Research by LenardÕs also revealed that throughout the two major supermarket chains across the country, the most commonly charged price per kilo for tray-packed skinless chicken breast is $15.49 per kilo, whereas LenardÕs price per kilo is typically around $8.99 to $9.99 per kilo.

“Chicken is what we do, so we wonÕt let anyone outdo us. Not on price, quality or range. Not even the big supermarkets,” Lenard Poulter, LenardÕs founder and executive director said.

“LenardÕs has been providing Australian families with a variety of delicious and nutritious products for over 20 years, so we are confident these statistics genuinely reflect the shopping trends weÕve been observing over the years,” he said.

According to further survey results, more than nine in 10 (93 per cent) Australians recognised the LenardÕs brand.
