Expansion on the books for WA-loving South African franchisees

Dymocks’ franchisees Ken and Anna-Maria Cosgrove are moving from South Africa to take on full management of their two Perth stores (in Belmont and Whitford City), run for nine months by the couple’s daughter Janine.

In June, 14 years after falling in love with the city during the Rugby Union Tri-Nations, the pair will make Perth their home and already have plans to open a third Dymocks store, at Bunbury.

Ken said “We have previously owned retail motor franchises in South Africa and enjoyed seeing our goals come to fruition. Our whole family are booklovers and Dymocks appeared to be a very well run organisation, so when the opportunity to own and run two Dymocks bookstores in Perth came to light, we jumped on it. Books are an incredible way to gain experience and knowledge through entertainment. In a few hours you can pick up someone elseÕs life experience.”

And since managing the two stores in her parentÕs absence, Janine too has fallen in love with the concept of business and franchising.

“WeÕre excited to welcome locals to come and visit our new book stores. We currently have eight employees over the two stores who all are book fanatics and pride themselves on knowing the latest on new releases and all the classics. Our team can recommend great reads for all ages and genres,” explained Janine.
