A new shopping precinct outside of Byron Bay is set to capitalise on developing population growth and consumer interest. Construction at the $35m Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads kicked off on Wednesday, with developer Clarence Property revealing big plans for the precinct.

Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads will feature 19 speciality retailers, including a medical centre and gym offering, and is bolstered by anchor tenant Woolworths.

Peter Fahey, Clarence Property managing director said the Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads development comes after a consistent pattern of population growth for the northern NSW region.

“Lennox Head is a growing community, with research showing another 3,000 people expected to move here over the next decade,” he said.

“Epiq is a key part of this growth story, with well over half of the 500 homesites in our community now sold and new residents moving in every month.”

Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads community focus

Fahey said the Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads will grant locals access to a thriving community precinct, in addition to providing more than 230 jobs upon completion.

“Our aim is to create a convenience hub here at Epiq, with the shopping village being built close to sporting fields and the new Harmony Early Learning Childcare Centre, which is also underway and expected to open early next year.”

“This means families will soon be able to shop, dine and play at Epiq, with retailers, restaurants, quality childcare and sporting grounds all in the one place.”

Offering

Cody Buck, CBRE negotiator and senior analyst said the Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads will have a range of tenancies available, from 28sqm to 240sqm.

Due to projected population growth, interest in the new development is expected to rise quickly, with Buck revealing a number of tenants had already been secured.

“We have our key retailers locked in, and are now looking for specialty operators to join our centre – particularly a  hairdresser, baker, butcher, newsagent, vet and cafe operators,” Buck said.

“This is a well located, well designed and well serviced shopping village, with 299 on grade car parks, so it’s highly accessible to shoppers. Outdoor dining and play areas in the centre will make Epiq Marketplace a destination for local families looking for a place to shop and socialise.”

The Epiq Marketplace at Lennox Heads is expected to open in mid 2020.
