Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar has signed its first franchisees who will open up a brand new location in Garden City.
Arif Memis told Inside Franchise Business construction will begin in April with a June completion and opening date.
“The new space is located in the Zone Bowling and Cloud 8 Karaoke section of the centre. We love the demographics of the area and are super excited for Pierre and Lili to be the first Cowch franchisees,” he said.
The brand has been on the move, with its Broadbeach outlet shifting sites, and a new home for the head office.
Arif is moving the brand’s Broadbeach cafe from the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre to the nearby Oracle development.
“The move gives us a chance to kick start our Gold Coast offering in a new environment in the middle of a thriving restaurant precinct that we feel is more suited to Cowch,” he said.
At the end of 2020, the business snapped up a future head office in Morningside. The facility will become the main base of operations for Cowch HQ team, provide a training location for both company owned venue teams and new franchisees, whilst providing Cowch with a proving ground for new dessert concepts and product development.
“In the long-term, the new Cowch HQ will become our epicentre to continue to elevate our dessert offerings and expand to ever growing Cowch footprint,” he said.
When it comes to an expanding footprint, the business is looking at further Queensland developments.
“Cowch has been working closely with the team at the new development within the Ipswich City Centre,” Arif said. “The redevelopment within this precinct by the local council lends itself towards true destination and experience venues and has a lot of synergies with the Cowch offering. All things going well, we would look to expand the Cowch family into Ipswich later this year.”
And the good news for potential dessert bar owners is that while Cowch is continuing its search for fabulous locations in Queensland it is also on the lookout for sites and franchisees in New South Wales, ACT, and Victoria.
