Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific is partnering with Australian Sailing.

The major hotel franchisor has pledged support for the Australian Sailing Team which will compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The chain has more than 7,000 hotels across over 40 countries. Brands housed under the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac banner include the Ascend Hotel Collection, Clarion, Quality, Comfort and Econo Lodge.

Choice CEO Trent Fraser told Inside Franchise Business “Aligning with Australian Sailing felt like a natural fit for both their brand and ours. One of our core business values is supporting regional communities, where many of our franchisees are located. Members of Australian Sailing need to travel across Australia to attend the various events, and they need a great place to stay on their travels, which can also accommodate those towing their boats.

“Our hotel network, particularly across regional areas, perfectly suits their needs. We are very excited to be supporting the State Youth Championships which kicked off this month, and of course the Australian Sailing Team.

Kari Hunter, general manager of marketing at Choice Hotels Asia-Pac said “We are excited to extend a warm welcome to Australian Sailing members into our Choice Hotels properties.”

The partnership will drive Choice Hotels’ involvement and presence among Australian Sailing’s State Youth Championships, which began at the NSW Youth Championships at Point Wolstoncroft this month.

Michael Martin, head of commercial and communication at Sailing Australia said, “Choice Hotels are world-leaders in their field, and through this significant partnership are demonstrating their commitment to the sport of sailing and particularly our all-important youth championship regattas.”

Choice will provide Australian Sailing accommodation and suitable parking for members’ boats.
