U.S. burger chain, Carl’s Jr. is set to open two new drive-through outlets in one week, following an announcement the latest Rothwell store has reached completion.

Under the direction of Queensland franchisor, The Bansal Group, Carl’s Jr. will open the two new locations at Hope Island and Rothwell on December 6 and 13, just in time for Christmas.

Earlier this month, Inside Franchise Business reported that the $65m Hope Island Marketplace would be the site of a new Carl’s Jr. outlet, bringing the network’s total to five, following successful launches at Redbank Plains, Pimpama, West Ipswich and Eagleby.

With the announcement that stage one of the Rothwell Village Development will open in early December, The Bansal Group has the opportunity to further develop its offering across Queensland, marking the first time the group has ventured outside of Brisbane’s south.

Steen Carlson, acquisition and leasing manager for Synergy Property, the owner of the Rothwell Village Development said the group was excited to have Carl’s Jr. on board, having previously worked on the brand’s West Ipswich location.

“I one hundred per cent believe that Rothwell locals will get behind the new store. I think they’ve been very successful in the other locations that they have opened over the last year, and I don’t see this being any different,” Carlson told Inside Franchise Business.

The new village also houses a number of other franchise brands, with flame grilled chicken franchise, Oporto set to open alongside Carl’s Jr. in stage one of the development, with Carlson indicating further openings will follow in 2019.

“It’s opening a few stages, with the Carl’s Jr., Oporto, and IMO car wash opening first and then we’ll see Starbucks opening early next year,” Carlson said.

The Bansal Group has earmarked at least another 15 restaurants for Queensland, with Carlson indicating the group has “a few more in the pipeline”.
