The new Westfield Kotara Cantina de Mad Mex brings the Mexican fast food chain into casual diningMad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill has brought a touch of laid back California into the casual dining arena with its brand new bar and eatery, Cantina de Mad Mex.

The decor uses washed wood walls, shades of sea foam blue, and terrazzo floors to create a Californian beach shack vibe. The Cantina sits away from the traditional food court, typically has a larger footprint than the Mad Mex stores, and is designed to suit customers looking for a relaxed eating experience.

The first outlet has opened at Westfield Kotara’s rooftop dining precinct and has seating for 80 people.

Clovis Young, CEO and founder of Mad Mex, said “Cantina de Mad Mex is a game changer for the business, designed for the future to cater for the growing trend towards a quality, casual dining experience with all the edge and fun expected from Mad Mex.”

Young has big plans for the brand extension, with his sights set on taking the casual dining concept overseas.

“By the end of 2016 Mad Mex plans to open 20 Cantina de Mad Mex in Australia and venture out into the international market including the Middle East and Asia,” he said.
