BurgerFuel adds Egypt to portfolio
The BurgerFuel brand has taken its first footstep into the Egyptian market with the opening of an outlet in Cairo.
The New Zealand based burger chain already has 20 stores in the Middle East North Africa region in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Iraq.
BurgerFuel Worldwide has linked with a large local business that operates in food and beverage, telecommunications and property development. Wadi Degla also has the country's largest private health, leisure and sports clubs with up to nine food outlets in each compound catering for the 30,000 members.
The founder and CEO of BurgerFuel, Chris Mason, described the partnership and Cairo outlet opening as "a milestone" for the burger chain.
"Wadi Degla have fast development potential along with the requisite passion for the BurgerFuel brand. Cairo is an exciting, dynamic city with around eight million people and it's great to open here.
"We see this store as another key strategic milestone for BurgerFuel and a great opportunity to showcase the brand in the rapidly developing region of North Africa which has close connections and proximity to Europe."
BurgerFuel Worldwide is listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
