The BRW Fast Franchises list for 2013 has been released, with some interesting results indeed.

Coming in at number one was Laser Clinics Australia, a franchise that specialises in laser hair removal, laser skin treatment and cosmetic injections.

While the company’s annual revenue was only $20.1 million for the 2011-12 financial year, in the same period it grew by 246 percent.

Alistair Champion, managing director, Laser Clinics Australia believes the company’s success reflects its ability to tap into the female economy, reports BRW.

This seems viable, considering 90 percent of the company’s customers are women, and it also suggests that the female beauty business is more lucrative than ever.

Champion is also quick to note that while expansion in on the cards, the company, which currently has stores in NSW and Queensland, is not going to expand just for the sake of it.

“We’re looking at opening 10 new sites in 2013 and looking into interstate some time during the year,” he said.

The list also highlights that the fitness craze is still alive and well, with Jetts Fitness reportedly growing by 219 percent, a figure that earned it the number two spot on the list.

Sitting in third position with a 166 percent growth rate was the 24/7 gym Anytime Fitness, and Plus Fitness came in at number eight with an 81 percent growth.

Mexican franchises are similarly continuing to perform well, with Zambrero earning itself the number five spot, Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill coming in at number six and Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill not far behind at number 10.
