The business of franchising continued apace in Queensland over the weekend with the two-day Brisbane Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo attracting big name brands and new entries into the franchising arena.

Bakers Delight was one of a string of food franchises to showcase their offers – other names included Muffin Break, Jamaica Blue, Outback Jacks, Mrs Fields, Baskin Robbins, ACCC participated too, and an advice centre offering free consultations attracted not just potential franchisees looking to invest in a system but entrepreneurs looking to develop their businesses into franchises.

The Franchising Networking Lounge proved a haven for visitors with regular refreshments served throughout the day and the Franchising team on hand to discuss franchising issues.

Organiser Paul Phelan told Franchising “A successful Brisbane show has finished off a growing year in franchising. Exhibitor sentiment indicates that 2010 is going to get bigger and better. Visitor numbers were up from 2008 with exceptional results in Perth and Melbourne and visitors pre-registering at twice the rate of previous years.”
