Franchise business Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog Wash is behind the second fundraising Doggy Fantastic Camping and Music Weekend in Queensland.

Held at Neurum Creek Bush Retreat Caboolture Qld from 23 to 25 October 2009, the weekend is an event designed to be educational and fun. Visitors can participate in waggiest tail, most handsome dog, best trick and dog and owner look a like competitions or join in the Iron Dog Competition for dog and owner. The event has plenty going on all weekend including expo stalls, musical entertainment, sausage sizzles and wine tasting.

Last yearÕs inaugural Doggy Fantastic Camping weekend, a joint fundraising venture by Variety Queensland, Aussie Pooch Mobile and Craig A Murray Specialist Dog Trainers, raised more than $3000 for Harry, the little pound puppy being trained as an assistance for three -year-old Reilly Paterson, who suffers from autism.

This time the fundraising is for six year-old Jacob Johnson who has been diagnosed with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder with Pervasive Developmental Delays.

Jan Johnson, JacobÕs grandmother explained “ASD affects Jacob in a number of areas — limited eye contact, social communication with his peers, meltdowns, obsessions and inability to concentrate and maintain focus on tasks that are outside his obsessions. We know an assistance dog would be very beneficial in many of these areas if specially trained to intervene when necessary to reward, to distract and soothe and to help in conversing with peers, and are therefore grateful that Variety Queensland, Aussie Pooch Mobile and Craig and Tracey Murray are making this possible.”
