You could buy a British franchise

What are you up to this Queen’s Birthday long weekend? Whether you’re going away or relaxing at home for the next few days, it’s a good time to reflect on what the Brits are up to over here.

Whether you love devouring Cornish pasties at a Sunday lunch or you’re re-watching yet another Harry Potter film, UK trends fit nicely on our turf.

Or perhaps you prefer tuning in the wee hours of the morning as Arsenal dominates the EPL, and live for the David and Goliath tenacity of an Ashes test match.

To be fair, we do get pretty excited when Mr Bond charges on the cinema screens with that signature charm.

It’s clear we love UK culture, but which of our franchised brands are born in Britain?

In the Brit Pack:

Toni & Guy- This iconic British hairdressing salon was opened by Toni and Guy Mascolo in South London in 1963. With more than 400 salons worldwide and 37 in Australia, this brand is a household name in Australia.

TaxAssist: Founded in 1995, TaxAssist Accountants is based on offering first class professional services to the small business owner. The brand expanded in Australia last year with its first franchise opening in Liverpool, New South Wales this year.

Pyjama Drama: Pyjama Drama delivers drama and play classes for babies and children up to 7 years. Created in the UK in 2005 by Sarah Owen, an experienced drama teacher, the classes develop communication and language skills, concentration, social and motor skills. The brand’s first Australian franchise is in Perth.

Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA): ERA has over 20 years’ experience delivering best practices of procurement for businesses. Personalised approaches to each business to offer effective and lowest cost supplier relationships.

Little Kickers: In an attempt to fill the gap left by football clubs whose primary focus is on the 5-16 age group, Little Kickers offers a soccer program for children from 18 months to seven years in a group plan environment. The franchise started in the UK in 2002 and has an international network of over 125 franchises. Find out more about becoming an Aussie Little Kickers franchisee
