“We are definitely expanding this year, we have new sites coming up in Williams Landing, Essendon, Plenty Valley and Melbourne CBD at this stage,” said Edward Barbar, managing director.

Barbar said the franchise model differs from traditional franchise formats in its diversity.

“We aren't a cookie cutter franchise model – we have large cafes with large commercial kitchens, we have kiosk models with no kitchens, and our food menu can vary from store to store.”

But hot and cold beverages, range of sweets and pastries are consistent across the board. These menu items are produced in The Jolly Miller CafŽ’s own central kitchen.

“We don’t charge royalties, unlike most other franchisors,” Barbar added.

The business will introduce a loyalty system later this year, so stay tuned.

The cost of a Jolly Miller CafŽ starts at $250,000 which includes marketing support for social media, local area marketing, and other promotional work implemented regularly in stores.
