SumoSalad to take on the US

SumoSalad will open its first North American outlet in the US city of Los Angeles in November.

The new store will be headed up by US master franchisor, Matt Yurdistsky, who is excited to be bringing the healthy food franchise to the nation.

“We’re currently gearing up for our grand opening and have already received great media traction,” he said.

“We will be running a variety of activities to help ensure the store is a success, from media and influencer sneak peeks to sampling activations.”

SumoSalad CEO, Luke Baylis is similarly excited by the impending opening. “We are very proud to have come this far, and it has taken a long time to get the concept right, but we’re now ready to take on the US market!

“It’s an amazing opportunity to be in the US, especially as it was here over a decade ago that the idea was born. I am excited to have Matt on board, we both share the same passion and vision for the future of SumoSalad, and he has worked hard to get this running locally,” he added.

The opening will see the brand operate 11 international sites in countries including New Zealand, Singapore, Dubai, Brazil and of course the US.

SumoSalad’s most recent international store opened its doors in S‹o Paulo, Brazil in January, and Baylis said it has been well received by locals. “We are doing better than expected and if it keeps going at this rate, we will look to expand further into South America over the next few years,” he explained.

Further expansion is on the cards for SumoSalad in 2015, and there will be a focus on those networks in which the brand already plays.
