Food retail chain Soul Origin has recorded a 10 per cent increase in coffee sales over the past 12 months.

The company’s national barista trainer Sam Taylor said “We take our coffee very seriously at Soul Origin. In recent years, we have been focused on investing in the latest, market leading coffee machines, technology and training to ensure we continually exceed customer expectation and meet the growing demand from Australia’s vibrant coffee culture.”

The premium coffee industry is now worth $8 billion in Australia, according to IBISWorld’s Cafes and Coffee Shop – Australia market research report from January 2018.

Soul Origin’s 90 plus stores across the country now feature new top of the range coffee machines and grinders.

Taylor said “Soul Origin prides itself on a commitment to excellence in the entire process ranging from where the beans are sourced, how they are roasted and handled, right through to execution by the passionate and talented baristas at the espresso machine.”

The coffee beans are selected and roasted in a production plant in Melbourne.

“We take pride in the exceptional quality of our coffee both in execution at store level and in building strong supplier relationships. Soul Origin values long term sustainable partnerships and regularly travels overseas to producing countries to carefully buy from passionate producers.”
