Work has started on new serviced apartments, the $25 million Quest Wodonga complex, with the opening expected to take place before Easter 2013.

There will be 48 studios, one, two and three bedroom apartment on site.

Andrew Weisz, general manager locations, Quest Serviced Apartments said expansion into Wodonga follows an assessment part-funded by Tourism Victoria that identified a need for high quality accommodation.

"Our focus is to provide corporates with flexible quality accommodation in the locations that need it.

"Simply our business growth is based on supply and demand and in recent times the greatest demand has been in suburban and regional locations."

Weisz was accompanied by co-developers Bill Perry and Colin Joss and Mayor Cr mark Byatt of Wodonga Council [pictured l-r] to mark the start of construction.

Mayor Byatt said "We are thrilled that Quest has committed to this wonderful development, which is a significant sign of confidence in this city's economic capabilities.

"Not only will jobs be created but we will have a top class facility for corporate visitors," he added.

  • Quest Serviced Apartments was established in 1998 by Paul Constantinou and corporate travellers make up 80 percent of revenue.
