Collins Foods, a major franchisee of the KFC and Sizzler restaurants, has boosted profits in its first six months.

Net profit rose to $14.3m while turnover improved 5.1 percent to reach $269.7m.

The Queensland based Collins Foods saw a rise in same-store sales across its chain of KFC outlets; sales at Sizzler’s restaurants however dropped by 12 percent, according to Inside Retail.

Earlier this year the publicly listed business appointed a former Starbucks director as group CFO.
